Company History

Tito’s® Handmade Vodka first came on the scene in the early 90s in Austin, Texas, which is where this vodka is still distilled to this day. This handmade vodka is created in small batches for quality’s sake with the use of old-fashioned pot stills. Every batch of vodka from Tito’s is taste-tested before being sent out to ensure it has the quality taste that customers desire.

A man named Bert “Tito” Beveridge, a geophysicist who is now in his 50s, obtained the patent for Tito’s Handmade Vodka back in 1995. This was the first permit ever provided to distill vodka in Texas and the same technique is still used today to ensure great flavor and smoothness. Tito’s vodka is corn-based, so it’s completely gluten-free. Nowadays, Tito’s Handmade Vodka is bottled and distilled by Fifth Generation in Austin.

What Makes Tito’s Handmade Vodka Different from Other Vodka?

The use of pot stills makes it the process at Tito’s is a lot more time-consuming than many companies. It also takes a lot of skill to do right, but the brand has proven they have it down to a true art. Something else that sets the brand apart is the excellent value. Get the same taste you’d expect from high-end vodkas at a much more reasonable price. The company uses a simple bottle and label instead of spending a lot on fancy marketing and frosted bottles, ultimately transferring that value to the customer.

In the early days of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Tito donated product to local nonprofit events. Over time those small, localized gestures not only continued, but evolved into a nationwide movement to make the world a better place. Tito’s Handmade Vodka is excited to help empower Black Futures by supporting three nonprofits centered on entrepreneurship, the food and beverage industry, and music – key elements that have shaped the Tito’s brand into what it is today. Tito’s is teaming up with Goodie Nation, NBAF and Feed the Soul Foundation to help further the positive impact they have made, and continue making, in communities across the country by providing a $50,000 donation to each organization. We also started Vodka for Dog People to rescue and protect the animals that have come into our lives, many of whom now thrive alongside us at our distillery and office.

While you can happily sip Tito’s vodka straight up or on the rocks, it also works amazingly well in all sorts of cocktails. You can go with something as simple as mixing vodka and lemonade or create a high-end drink with a dozen ingredients.
